Bass Valley Primary School is a rural school situated between the Bass Highway and the small Coastal town of Corinella, on the land of the Bunurong/Boonwurrung people.
At Bass Valley Primary School, we follow the Victorian Curriculum. This curriculum outlines what every student should learn during their schooling, and is a common set of knowledge and skills required by students for life-long learning, social development and active and informed citizenship. Curriculum areas include:
Students are supported to set and achieve learning goals in each area of the curriculum, drawing on positive mindsets and problem solving skills to persevere through challenges and learn from mistakes.
There is also a whole school focus on environmental sustainability and science is taught at each year level by the classroom teacher.
Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is interwoven throughout activities across the curriculum each day. We are fortunate to have a range of tools at our disposal, including a recording studio, robotics in each area of the school, laptops, iPads, flip cameras and much more. Teachers regularly use interactive whiteboards throughout the day for learning videos, stories, problem solving tasks, worked examples and more.
We acknowledge the traditional owners of this land, the Bunurong / Boonwurrung people, and pay our collective respects to their elders past, present and emerging. We also pay our continued respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in our community today.
